Beer lovers rejoice! The Bogotá Beer Company (BBC) brewery opens its doors to the fanatics and the curious.
Beer wasn’t always the preferred drink in this part of Latin America. It took some trial and error and smart marketing to establish beer drinking in the country. And for several years’ beer production and distribution were led by local industry giant, Bavaria.
Everything changed in 2002 when Berny Silberwasser decided to start his own microbrewery. But it didn’t stay “micro” for long. His independent brewing of flavorful beers (and flavor experiments) soon made BBC one of the most popular beer brands in the country.
In this tour, you will learn the history of brewing in Colombia and how beer is made. It is a joy for the uninitiated and a boon for the knowledgeable. A taste of their different beer flavors is a taste not only of different brews but different parts of Bogotá. Don’t miss out!
