Itinerary

Our 5-hour tour will start when our expert local guide picks you up from the hotel and take you to El Poblado neighborhood where some of Pablo Escobar’s events took place. You will learn about the prison where he was held, as in 1991, the drug lord voluntarily entered this prison, with the only objective of avoid his extradition to the United States.

We will review some episodes that marked the fight of his organization for the control of drug trafficking and the creation of Envigado cartel. We will also talk about how he escaped from his prison and had a last but brief sort of freedom, since he died in 1993. We will approach the building where Pablo Escobar died in La América neighborhood and we will try to shed some light on the multiple hypotheses that exist about his death: Did he commit suicide? Was he executed by the United States? By the Colombian forces? Is he dead? We will finish the tour in the Montesacro cemetery, where Pablo Escobar's tomb is one of the most visited in the churchyard.

Afterwards, we will visit Pablo Escobar neighborhood where he built thousands of houses for the poor and will review his doings to understand furthermore why he was beloved by some part of the community.
